Daisan ChaosbaneIn case you did not know, as Retribution Paladin you might consider clicking off the Chaos Bane Buff to increase your dps.

“Your melee attacks have a chance to drain a Soul Fragment granting you 30 Strength. When you have acquired 10 Soul Fragments you will unleash Chaos Bane, dealing 1900 to 2100 Shadow damage split between all enemies within 15 yards and granting you 270 Strength for 10 sec.”

If you click off the Buff you start to gather Souls right away again and will unleash Chaos Bane right again within a few seconds. Just consider that your melee swings or abilities can drain more than 1 soul, just like Retribution gains more than one Mote of Anger from Tiny Abomination in a Jar. After some Target Dummy Tests It seems that I was able to gather 10 souls each 5 seconds, ao about 2 souls per second.

  • Second 1: 60 Str
  • Second 2: 120 Str
  • Second 3: 180 Str
  • Second 4: 240 Str
  • Second 5: 270 Str + Chaos Bane!

You can gather motes right away and be able to unleash Chaos Bane again, averaging at 400 dps! You do not really lose the 270 Str either, since you already have within the first 2 seconds at least half of the Buff running again.

You can easily click off Chaos Bane by inserting cancelaura in your attack macros:

#showtooltip
/cast Crusader Strike
/startattack
/cancelaura Chaos Bane

#showtooltip
/cast Divine Storm
/startattack
/cancelaura Chaos Bane

#showtooltip
/cast Judgement of Light
/startattack
/cancelaura Chaos Bane
